Before and after graduating Magna Cum Laude from Boston University with a B.S. in Human Movement Studies, she ran the strength-training program for figure skaters at the Skating Club of Boston. This catapulted her into the business of personal training, which came naturally. Valerie grew up as a figure skater, reaching the highest level of the sport by passing the Senior Freestyle and 8th Figure tests. When she returned to the rink during college, it was as a coach for disciplines including power skating, choreography, jumps and spins, for group and private lessons. As a speed skater, she had the opportunity to train with several Olympic team coaches, including Peter Mueller, the coach of Dan Jansen and Bonnie Blair. It was this experience that ultimately taught her that you can achieve anything, as long as you are willing to put your heart 100% into it. Valerie has most recently been certified as a TRX trainer.
